Sign is the National leading charity supporting D/deaf people with mental health problems to achieve as much independence as possible. To this end we provide residential and supported housing in London and the Midlands and a range of day and community support services, especially advocacy and outreach work. Our projects have grown from joint work with the specialist mental health services for D/deaf people. We aim to create accessible services through recruiting and developing D/deaf and hearing staff to communicate effectively through sign language and being deaf aware. Visit www.signcharity.org.uk for more information on the services provided.

In order to make a larger difference to the poor access to the NHS experienced by most D/deaf and hard of hearing people we have launched a major campaign entitled "Reaching Deaf Minds...for healthy deaf lives" which is working in partnership with likeminded charities to campaign for equal access for all d/Deaf people to primary care services.

Our campaign website www.reachingdeafminds.org.uk is developing fast as a portal for information on deafness, mental health and NHS access.
